Breast Feeding???

Breast, boobies, tettas, bouncy balls, milk jugs…so many names. Call them whatever you want but they are the two things on a  woman’s body. No different than other parts of a body but at the same time OH SO DIFFERENT. So this weeks ThemeThursday is Breast Feeding. So am I for it, am I against it

I’M FOR IT

I believe whoever created a human body (whether you think God or science) they created women’s boobies to produce milk or least for some women. And because they were created for this who am I to argue with this. You can read countless articles and studies telling you how much healthier it is for a baby to drink breast milk than formula. Now don’t misunderstand

I DO NOT JUDGE.

I chose to breast feed that does not mean that I think breast feeding is the one and only way. I know many women who chose not to or can’t. That is their/your business. Everybody has a right to their own choices.

Me, I chose to breast feed my kids…sort of. With my oldest I did it for 6 months. It was so hard to get him use to it at the beginning. We tried so many different positions and finally the only one that worked was with me lying down and him lying down next to me and then he would eat. This meant that when we were in public I could never do it. I wasn’t about to lie down in the middle of the supermarket, library or park to feed my kid. Those times he got pumped breast milk in a bottle. My youngest just never caught on. I tried for 3 weeks EVERYDAY to get him to latch on but it just never worked. After about a month I just gave up and gave him breast milk for some time and then formula for the rest. I felt so guilty. I really wanted to breast feed him. For his health and for economical reasons. Formulas are very expensive.

So how do I feel about the whole breast feeding business in public??

I really have mixed emotions.

On the one hand I condone it. I support it. Like I said at the beginning of this post someone gave us boobies filled with milk so that someone wanted us to give this milk to our babies. It is our right as mothers to feed our kids. Babies don’t know when its “appropriate” to eat and when its not. When they’re hungry they want food. As mothers we feel we must make ourselves available and give them this food.

On the other hand I believe in the saying There’s a Right Time and a Right Place for Everything” So what does that mean? It means feeding your baby when he/she is hungry but at the same time maybe being just a bit considerate of others. I know it’s a natural thing for a mother to breast feed her baby but some people are just uncomfortable watching this. Maybe just maybe we don’t have to whip out our boobies at every family function, every time we go to the park, library, train, airplane, etc. Just maybe we can be considerate of other people’s discomfort and give our baby a bottle. Don’t worry nothing bad is going to happen to your baby if you give him/her a bottle filled with breast milk every once in a while. I know some will say that if a person feels uncomfortable they should leave and I agree with that if they are in your house but out in public we need to think of others and not just what we want.

This is just my opinion. I don’t mean to offend anyone or for that matter insinuate that my opinion is right and everyone else is wrong. NOT AT ALL.

This is just my opinion. PERIOD

IS THIS THE END…..

Ughhhh it’s been so long since I last wrote on my blog & twitted on twitter & I’ve been somewhat absent from my Facebook page. What the hell is wrong with me?? I wanted to start writing a blog and I did & I got people reading my stuff…real people!! I wanted to started a Facebook page & I did and I got people liking and responding to my posts and I’ve got over 100 likes…this is amazing to me. I wanted to start tweeting so I opened a twitter account. It was great at the beginning, people were interacting with me and #FF me…I was on cloud nine. I still get new followers….I’m at 186 at last count. I feel shitty everyday when I look that new people are following me and I don’t even look at my twitter to see who they are. So I go on every couple of days and take a look and read your tweets and laugh at some of the post and than…than I leave, no comment, no tweet, no nothing.

Truthfully I got everything I wanted, this is my dream come true and yet here I am writing finally after a month of almost nothing and its not even a real blog it’s a rant about how I’m NOT blogging. So what is wrong with me?? Why haven’t I don’t any of these things when I was so excited to do them a month ago? I just don’t know. At first it was the whole holiday’s thing. The kids we off from school, I had a lot of work at work and I was tired. People I’ve been exhausted, truly exhausted EVERY. DAY. I get home and I can’t wait to get to sleep. I’ve done at best minimal housework. I can’t even have people over because my house is such a mess. I’m also experience the worst writers block EVER. I have ideas but just putting them to paper doesn’t seem to go. I am reading everyone’s blog and then I think how come they can throw out a blog every day and I can’t at least once a week. Do these people have that much time…they/you don’t from reading your blogs but somehow there you are with your daily blogging and tweeting and facebooking. Where do you find the time? Are any of you sleeping? Is that the secret….no sleep?? I'm almost convinced that it's probably not.

I guess the first step is admitting that I have a problem. Now I need to find a way to fix it because I honestly love this whole blogging/tweeting/Facebook thing. I love to see people read my blog, it means I’m writing something that people beside me are interested in….THANK YOU!!! I love reading what other bloggers have to say. Your stories are great!!

So I don’t want this to be the end, I just need to find the beginning again and I hope it will be really soon before everyone does abandon me. Please don’t!!!!

Reality Show - My Secret

I have a confession and a secret to tell.

I was this close to not writing a post this week for Theme Thursday. Not because I have nothing to say about this weeks topic cause I have a lot but because I’ve been way to busy like crazy fucking busy, like I have no time to pee busy. See my husbands back when out over the weekend so I’m working from home this week. Now some of you may think great she gets to stay home and get paid and while that is true let me tell you it's not a picking and nothing to be jealous of. Having a husband who almost can’t get out of bed for most of the morning every morning for the past 4 days means I have to get the older kid ready for school, I have to prepare lunch when he gets home and the little one has been staying with me since I don’t have the time to take him to daycare and hubs just can’t. On top of that I have my usual things that I do…make dinner, do homework, showers not to mention I have my job that I have to do from 8-4:30. Oh and it's great when I’m super super busy at work having the 4 year old sitting on top of me demanding things. Needless to say its been a very exhausting week. Just last night I didn’t get to sleep till past one cause I was working on work stuff. So now it's 11:30 on a Wednesday night and I'm trying to do this post because you see here’s my secret

I LOVE REALTY SHOWS….well some, actually mostly just one….THE BACHELOR/BACHLORETTE/BACHELOR PAD franchise.

I absolutely love that show. On Sunday one of the couples on the Bachelorette actually made it, the shows been on the air for like 10 years and this is the third wedding from ALL the couples so this is huge and very rare.

Don’t get me wrong on why I love watching the show. It's not that I believe these people will find everlasting love and even though I’m a hopeless romantic I know these people will most likely not find it. 97% don’t. How could you, there is one guy/girl and they have to chose out of 25 girls/guys in 6 weeks while making out with most of them. Seriously this is not a way to start of the relationship.

So why do I love it?
I love it because of the places this shows takes the people. Some of them are amazing. The beaches are my favorites.
I love it because truthfully I love seeing people making total fools of themselves. These men and woman are crying into the first 3 episodes after they get eliminated because they  feel something strong, how this was their last chance at finding love, how they could see themselves falling in love with the Bachelor/Bachelorette. Give me a fucking break. I think most of them are pissed of they didn’t get to visit more places. It’s impossible to find love after 3 weeks while 20+ people are competing for the same person, but its definitely fun to watch.

I love the suspense of seeing who the Bachelor/Bachlorette picks at the rose ceremony. I'm not too proud to admit that I've yelled at the TV screen when they've pick someone I don't like or when they send a good person home...this is my version of Sunday Football.
I also love when they break up go back on the show and cry to the host that they can’t believe its over, how they didn’t see it coming, how they really thought this person was the one oh and by the way they would totally do Bachelor/Bachlorette all over again because they believe in true love and they are confident they will find it this time…yeah right and I just won the mega million; so now we’re all happy.

I also secretly wish I was on the show if I was younger, not married and didn’t have kids. Again not to find love but to go to these amazing places. This show is a perfect opportunity for anyone who loves to travel to do it for free. Forget who the Bachelor is. I have no interest in finding love on a TV show. I’m not that stupid to think it could work.

So there’s my secret. I get so excited when new seasons start. New faces, new morons to make fools of themselves, lots and lots of crying and although I love all three shows I definitely prefer when the men is a Bachelor. Woman are cruel and they are not afraid to show it on national television nor are they too proud to make total asses of themselves....constantly.

How could not love watching a show likes this. You can't get this kind of entertainment in real life. By the way for this season the Bachelor ends up picking her at the end of the show after she was a complete physcho the whole season. Oh surprise it didn't work out...shocked I know.
